Compositions for Double Bodied Instrumentals

This history spans quite some years so some dust has settled on it and it might be a bit long-winded. None-the-less, it does show the outline of the creation of the Diano and, later, the FretMorpher. Here are two videos that start out with the Dialin and BadJammer, and then move on to the Diano.

The foundational principle of the Diano is that it simulates vibrating strings that can be divided anywhere along their length, and it uses both of those notes as building blocks for new scales. The dividers, the tunings of the strings, the number of strings, the octave length, and even the mapping of the keys is flexible, intuitive and instantaneous. This allows you to create scales using mathematics OR that tool they call your ear. I call the works below "sketches" because they haven't been properly recorded or mixed.

Here's Loreta Kovacic trying it out.

I am still working on music "re-composed" on the Diano and plan on releasing a few albums in the coming months, you can also check out the FretMorpher -an entirely new instrument based on some of the Diano's fundamental principles. Thanks for your interest!!
